Every year the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) awards a scientific prize to a researcher or a research team in order to foster innovative fundamental or applied research on the structure or processes of our seas and ocean. The prize amounts to EUR 1000 and is indivisible. The North Sea Award 2015 will be granted on the 16th VLIZ Marine Scientist Day 2016 on 12 February 2016.
