The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) is the public university of the Basque Autonomous Community, and is the main research institution in the Basque Country. It grew from the University of Bilbao and is a complex of thirty research and education centres. It has campuses over the three provinces of the autonomous community. 

UPV/EHU is the Spanish partner in ASSEMBLE Plus. Spanish access services are offered to ASSEMBLE Plus by

• PiE-UPV/EHU (the Plentzia Marine Station of UPV/EHU; and which is part of EMBRC and also runs the Spanish ASSEMBLE Plus partnership) 
• ECIMAT-UVIGO (Unversity of Vigo Toralla Marine Science Station of UVIGO; and which is also part of EMBRC) 

EHU will offer transnational access (TA); will lead NA4; and will contribute to all networking work packages and JRA1, JRA3 and JRA4 and JRA5.
