• Optional visit of the research vessels Simon Stevin (Flanders) and André Malraux (France) in the Ostend harbour
• Optional excursion to Navigo (Oostduinkerke) and Walraversyde (Oostende): two maritime museums on the coast
• 18.00h Icebreaker reception

14/10/2025

• Opening of the conference

15/10/2025

• Short visits in the afternoon to local sites, included in the program. Possible sites are e.g.:

1. Two historic vessels (Mercator and the Amandine)
2. A Napoleonic fortress
3. The Ensor museum
4. Guided tours in the city of Ostend

16/10/2025

• Conference dinner in the evening

17/10/2025

• End of the conference 
• Farewell reception

18-19/10/2025

• Optional postconference excursions to:

1. Bruges and its medieval outports
2. Antwerp (Red Star Line, the MAS and the Dry Docks)
3. Espace gallo-romain Ath and Achéosite Aubechies (Roman river boat) 
4. Vlissingen Muzeeum and the ‘Doggerland’ exhibition in Knokke-Heist (drowned coastal landscape)
