Abstract
Testicular growth was halted and taGtH level decreased in tilapia during long-term exposure to estradiol-17 beta (E) and p-nonylphenol (NP) administered to the water. Short-term treatment by injecting these compounds to the fish resulted in elevated plasma GtH and T, and augmented the response in vitro to hCG. E was found to stimulate T secretion when added directly to the medium.
