Abstract
Effects of neuropeptide Y (NPY) on in vitro release of seabream gonadotropin-releasing hormone (sbGnRH) from preoptic anterior hypothalamus (POA-H) and pituitary of pre-pubertal and adult fish were studied. NPY stimulated sbGnRH release from POA-H of all age groups, indicating the onset of responsiveness of sbGnRH neurons to NPY already in pre-pubertal fish.
