Percentage of designated bathing waters non-compliant with EU Mandatory value for bathing water quality

  • Definition : The percentage of designated bathing waters that do not comply with the Mandatory value of the Bathing Water Directive, by municipality (district, sub-region), in any given year.
  • Calculation : Number of designated coastal bathing waters (represented by sampling stations) that have not achieved standards as defined in the EU Mandatory value for bathing water quality, divided by the total number of designated bathing waters, multiplied by 100
  • Unit : Percentage
