Quality of bathing water

Definition : Percentage of the designated coastal bathing waters compliant with the guide value of the European Bathing Water Directive and percentage of the designated bathing waters compliant with only the mandatory value of the European BWD.
Description : Compliance with the mandatory standards is expressed as the percentage of the designated bathing waters that have achieved the mandatory value: it therefore includes the bathing waters that have achieved the guide value.The BWD focuses mainly on compliance with quality parameters that affect human health such as presence of coliform bacteriae.
