TROPOS

TROPOS (Modular multi-use deep water offshore platform harnessing and servicing Mediterranean, Subtropical and Tropical marine and maritime resources) is one of the other 2 projects on multi-use offshore platforms that have been selected for funding by the European Union in response to Ocean 2011 (FP7-OCEAN.2011-1 “Multi-use offshore platforms").

The main objective of TROPOS, in which it distinguishes itself from MERMAID and H2OCEAN, is to design a modular floating platform for the exploitation of oceanic resources in deep waters. These resources include energy, aquaculture, maritime transport, recreational and oceanic observation activities. TROPOS focuses on Tropical, Subtropical and Mediterranean regions.
