CIIMAR mobilises a multidisciplinary, highly skilled and motivated team that will provide you world-class scientific and technological support in the fields of global changes and ecosystem services, aquaculture and seafood quality, and marine biotechnology.

CIIMAR's new state-of-the-art facilities for research, training and services are located at the heart of the maritime industry and services in the Northern region of Portugal. This privileged location enables facilitated access to a wide range of marine ecosystems and to Natura 2000 site “Litoral Norte” providing an excellent opportunity to study the influences of marine and freshwater in coastal intertidal and subtidal communities.

• CIIMAR offers the opportunity to work with a comprehensive culture collection of more than 400 cyanobacterial strains, and with a variety of marine model organisms.
• CIIMAR’s experienced scientific diving team supports access to a wide range of marine ecosystems in the Atlantic Western coast - North of Portugal. 
• Access to advanced culture and experimental facilities, well-equipped laboratories and specialised technological platforms: biodiscovery, analytical chemistry, bioinformatics and molecular biology and “omics” is also provided to support research on multiple areas related to marine biological systems.
