“My dear Sir… I heartily rejoice at the success of your great Naples undertaking; and I fully believe that you have thus done a great service to science. …. With every good wish, Believe me my dear Sir, Yours very sincerely. Charles Darwin.”
We, at the SZN, have an extensive history of research in marine biological research. Our scientific explorations now focus on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, on molecular and developmental biology, and on blue biotech applications this biodiversity offers.
Our staff provides research access to state-of-the art instrumentation and platforms, such as coastal vessels, aquarium facilities, microscopy, molecular biology and bioinformatics. We hosts long term datasets and an large reference collection of marine organisms gathered from the rich ecosystems of the Gulf of Naples.
Our vibrant and active community of young researchers form a welcoming environment for collaborations. SZN located right in the heart of Naples is a fun place to be.
