Access Provider Spotlight: EMBRC France - Observatoire Océanologique de Banyuls (OOB)

Located on the rocky coastline of the Occitanie region, close to a marine protected area and a natural marine reserve, the Observatory provides access to a broad diversity of habitats, fauna and flora living both the marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Research is conducted in several areas such as marine biology, microbiology, biogeochemistry, marine ecology, integrative and evolutionary biology and biotechnology. There is a focus on the study of biodiversity and the effects of environmental disturbance on organisms and ecosystems. A cytometry platform - one of the best-equipped in Europe with solid phase and fountain flow cytometers - and an imaging platform with a transmission electron microscope are also available.
