Taxonomy Schmarda's (1854) only species, and original monotype of genus Hexarthra, H. polyptera, is unrecognizable and, in order to allow giving priority to Pedalion fennicum Levander as the type species of genus Hexarthra, has been proposed for suppression under the plenary powers of the ICommissionZN (Neal, 1951) [Ref.360538].
