Abstract:
The coordination centre for Integrated Coastal Zone Management in Belgium is a point of contact in the coastal zone where cross-sectoral themes are discussed.

In order to steer Integrated Management on the Belgian coast in the right direction, the co-ordination centre has, as its object, 5 tasks:

1. Communication and sensibilisation on Integrated Coastal Zone Management.

2. To act as a point of contact on Integrated Coastal Zone Management home and abroad,

3. To help with the implementation of the EU recommendation concerning Integrated Coastal Zone Management; preparing of the positions and policy advise included.

4. To keep up to date a sustainability barometer for the coast and communicate about the indicators.

5. Integration of planning and policy.
