The H2020 SOPHIE Project is working towards protecting both human health and the health of the marine environment by nurturing a community of people and organisations interested in the links between oceans and human health. The project will be holding the conference People, Health and the Ocean: the Way Forward at the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium, where it plans to:

• Review the evidence for the breadth of ocean and human health challenges 
• Present the H2020 SOPHIE Strategic Agenda for Research in Ocean and Human Health 
• Expand the community of experts and other interested persons 
• Carry forward the research, training and other activities in Ocean and Human Health
