AB  - More than a thousand samples of <i>Henricia</i> (Echinodermata, Asteroidea) from the Norwegian Sea and the waters around Iceland and Greenland have been studied and the taxonomy of the species, usually indiscriminately called <i)H. sanguinolenta</i>, has been re-evaluated. The three species described from southern Norway by O.F. Muller, 1776: <i>H. sanguinolenta </i>, <i>H. pertusa</i> and <i>H. perforata</i>, and the species, <i>H. spongiosa</i> described from southern West Greenland by Fabricus, 1780 are recognized and neotypes selected. Recognized also are <i>H. oculata</i> (Pennant, 1777), <i>H. eschricthi</i> (J. Muller & Troschel, 1842), and <i>H. cylindrella</i> (Sladen, 1883). Two new taxa, from bathyal depths around Iceland and southern Greenland, are established: <i>H. hedingi</i> n. sp. and <i>H.lisa ingolfi</i> n. subsp. The recognized species are redescribed and lists of synonyms given.
