Cnidarians are aquatic animals including the jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war, fire coral, hydroids, sea anemones, and coral. Many of these can harm human skin and rarely some envenomations can lead to a serious or even fatal outcome. This article discusses the varied creatures in this group that can harm man and potentially lead to serious envenomation syndromes. Treatment of cnidarian injuries and stings is discussed.
