Study of an endozoic alga that was found, as tetrasporophyte, in the hybroids: Obelia geniculata in which it was formerly identified as Acrochaetium infestans, and Amphisbetia operculata, in which it recalls Audouinella membranacea and Acrochaetium(?) endozoicum. Its life cycle, unknown to date, obtained in culture, involves the heterotrichous tetrasporophyte found in nature and a monoecious or dioecious gametophyte with a creeping system reduced to 1 cell. This alga belongs to a new species, Audouinella boryana, different from the 3 endozoic species evocated above.Descriptors: OBELIA GENICULATA; AMPHISBETIA OPERCULATA
