Type species The type designation for this genus is problematic. Crosse (1885) designated Odostomia rissoides Hanley but Monterosato included this species with a question mark and included as certain Odostomia rissoides sensu Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus, 1883. Would the Mediterranean and British species prove to be different, the case could be relevant to ICZN art. 70.3. [details]
