Etymology The specific epithet cirrosa refers to the extremely long dorsal cirri of the species (about 3 mm long), very mobile and sticky in the single living specimen observed (holotype). [details]
Habitat Submerged dune made of shells and shell fragments, 45-60 m depth. [details]
Type locality Northeast Atlantic Ocean, France, Brittany, Trezen ar Skoden, submerged dune near Roscoff. west Île de Batz (geocoordinates not provided, estimated with gazetteer to be approximately lat. 48.755º, long. -04.094º). [details]
Type material Gidholm (1962: 255) stated that the holotype was deposited at the MNHN (Paris), but it is not referred in the catalogue of "Types of polychaetous annelids at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris", by Solís-Weiss et al. (2004). [details]Unreviewed
