Paracassidulina aperture. Islandiella islandica (Nørvang, 1945) is the type species of the genus Islandiella which is not considered as asynonym of Cassidulina nor of Paracassidulina which invalidate the synonymy between the species until further studies.

Synonymy Scott et al. (2000) proposed a synonymy between Cassidulina sagamiensis Asano & Nakamura, 1937 and Islandiella islandica (Nørvang, 1945) adding that Nomura (1983) suggested this species has a typical Paracassidulina aperture. Islandiella islandica (Nørvang, 1945) is the type species of the genus Islandiella which is not considered as a synonym of Cassidulina nor of Paracassidulina which invalidate the synonymy between the species until further studies.
