Editor's comment Even although nearly 40 years ago Hediste diversicolor was stressed to be the standard correct name for this common North Atlantic estuarine nereidid in Fauchald (1977), the superseded original combination Nereis diversicolor, and other variants may appear in non-taxonomic works. [details]
