Classification Littorinimorpha contains many of the gastropod families formerly placed in Thiele's Mesogastropoda. It is retained until further notice, but published evidence for them being monophyletic is scanty. Tree of Life (based on Ponder & Lindberg, 1997 and on Strong, 2003) may be more realistic in using only Neogastropoda as a clade and unresolved superfamilies of Hypsogastropoda for what is here the Littorinimorpha. Opinions are welcome. [details]
