Nomenclature The higher taxon with the spelling "Amphiporina" was originally introduced by Ehrenberg (1831: 60), who placed it at the rank of "Sectio", while Örsted (1843: 580) classified it as "Faml." Therefore, Örsted's (1843) "Amphiporina" is an incorrect original spelling under Article 32.5.3.1 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (4th ed.), and should be corrected to read "Amphiporidae".
