The family name appeared in a diagram on p. 132 and as a taxonomic heading on p. 181, with a formal diagnosis on p. 136, so the publication date of McIntosh’s Lineidae is 1874 under Article 21.5 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (cf.
