Abstract
Chemical investigation of Oscarella lobularis and O. tuberculata confirmed the specific status of these two sibling species already suggested by allozyme electrophoresis and cytological analyses. O. tuberculata yielded alkylpyrrole-aldehydes and sterol endoperoxides, when O. lobularis furnished only 6-11-eicosanoic acid, methyl ester.
