An International Conference, sponsored by VLIR-UOS (VLIR-INCO 2014), will be held in Mombasa, Kenya from 27 to 29 October, 2014, titled:

"Sustainable use of marine and coastal resources in Kenya: from research to societal benefits"

This conference is organized by KMFRI, in partnership with Ghent University, the Free University of Brussels and Flanders Marine Institute. 

The conference will tackle the critical challenges Kenya is facing for the sustainable development of the coast and ocean such as overexploitation of fisheries resources, mangrove degradation, climate change, Marine Protected Area management and aquaculture development.
