The Proceedings of the conference “Sustainable use of marine and coastal resources in Kenya: from research to societal benefits” held in Kenya in October 2014 are now available online.

This document summarizes the outcomes of the conference that was convened  by  KMFRI,  VLIZ,  UGent  and  VUB  and  brought  together  local,  national,  regional  and  international scientists and other stakeholders to share experiences and discuss the future of marine  research and education in Kenya and the WIO region. The main topics that were discussed included the sustainable use of marine resources, coastal resource management, sustainable aquaculture development and capacity building and education in marine sciences.
