Description
This is the project dataset of the BIOGEST project. The aim of BIOGEST was to understand the distribution of biogases in surface water of European estuaries and to quantify related atmospheric exchanges. more

This is the project dataset of the BIOGEST project. The aim of BIOGEST was to understand the distribution of biogases in surface water of European estuaries and to quantify related atmospheric exchanges. Within the project there were 9 cruises in 9 estuaries between 1996 and 1999. The cruises were done with Belgica RV, Luctor RV, Navicula RV, Côte d'Aquitaine RV, Valdivia RV, Côtes de la Manche RV and Mestre Costero. The total number of discrete sampling stations was 316 and underway measurements were carried out during about 760 hours. Measurements on the Scheldt estuary were done at various stations between Vlissingen and the Rupel during 4 cruises that were carried out with the Belgica RV. The stations were set by 2.5 steps of salinity. More information on the BIOGEST research project is to be found on http://www.vliz.be/imis/imis.php?module=project&proid=1230
