VLIZ Marine Science Day 2023

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the previous editions of the VLIZ Marine Science Day were brought to you as online events. We are very pleased to announce that #VMSD23 will again be a live event, hosted in the 'Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre' in Bruges on 1 March 2023. We hope it will be a day full of inspiring presentations and interaction for the entire marine research community in Flanders and the surrounding area!

We aim at a well-balanced alternation of presentations and interaction. The program will guide you through a variety of inspiring marine science form Flanders and the wider area.

There will be two main opportunities for each of you to actively present your work: a five minute presentation, or a poster presentation. The latter will also allow you to prepare and showcase your research in a 1’ video, available on the website.

Application is done by submitting your abstract, following the instructions below.

Follow this link to submit your abstract. The deadline to do so is set on 15 January 2023.
Abstracts that are not selected for an oral presentation, will automatically be accepted to participate in the poster presentation.

  • How to apply for a poster

Follow this link to submit your abstract. The deadline is set on 15 January 2023.
All posters will be placed online will be digitally presented during the VMSD.


PLEASE NOTE that the mentioned deadline of 15 January is final. There will be no extrension. Late applications will nog be considered.

The full programme will be available in February 2023.
