Abstract:
COSMOPOLIS van de Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is een interdisciplinair onderzoeksteam dat zich richt op de hedendaagse stedelijke vraagstukken. De groep verkent en behandelt de processen van glocalisatie (globalisatie en localisatie) en de relatie tussen verstedelijking, maatschappij en cultuur. COSMOPOLIS bekijkt steden vanuit een onderzoek- en ontwerpperspectief.

Het mariene onderzoek van deze groep focust op oplossingen voor contrasten in de omgeving van kustgebieden en de analyse van conflicten tussen gebruikers en sectoren bij het gebruik van hulpbronnen in kustgebieden.
