Releve data from a historical-ecological study of the amphibious vegetation of shallow lakes at Turnhout, Belgium. Releves are comprised from the study period (1999, by Floris Vanderhaeghe) and from older times (1973-1993, by Geert De Blust and including 1 releve by Herman Stieperaere). Many of these phytocoenoses belong to the Littorelletea class. meer

Geographic coverage: Turnhout, Flanders, Belgium The Turnhout's shallow lake area is one of the most important heathlands in Flanders with many valuable shallow lakes and heathlands. These heathlands are the biotope of rare plants and animals that have specifically adapted to this environment.
