Abstract
Measurements on site have demonstrated that the present design techniques of sloping coastal structures undervalue the height of the crest level. In order to optimise the height of the crest level, there is a valid need of prototype data and improved run-up prediction methods. Within the project, a large amount of full scale data will be acquired and compared to laboratory scale model measurements and to results of numerical models. This comparison will lead to new design rules.
