Description
KOBIS (Korea Ocen Beogeographic Information System) is hosted and managed by Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) to provide the occurrence information of the marine organisms appearing in the Korean waters. KIOST started to develop KOBIS in 2007 and KOBIS is a regional node of the international Ocean Biogeographic Information System (iOBIS). more

The original dataset, provided by KOBIS, contains all distribution records. The dataset in OBIS Seamap is a subset of the original dataset, only containing marine mammal, seabird and/or sea turtle records.
