EMODnet Open Sea Lab II: Hackathon

From 4 to 6 September, EMODnet is organizing a second hackathon on open marine data. The aim is to form multidisciplinary teams, consisting of a mix of programmers, communication experts, data enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. During Open Sea Lab II, the teams are challenged to create knowledge and value with open marine data, and to develop innovative solutions that address the challenges of the blue society. Interested participants can register – individually or in teams of 4-5 people – until August 12th. Experience is not required! Are you up for a challenge?

Are you a coder? A communicator? A data enthusiast? An entrepreneur? Join us at the second EMODnet Open Sea Lab hackathon. During three days teams will compete and bring their expertise to develop novel marine and maritime applications using the wealth of marine data and services made available by EMODnet, ICES en Copernicus Marine.

No previous experience is required! Experts in European marine data management and digital innovation will help you to build your team (if you do not already have one), lead workshops and coach you to bring your innovative ideas into working solutions.

There was a kick-off event on 24 May in Brussels, where potential candidates were challenged by experts in the three themes that will have to be worked on during the hackathon. Did you miss the kick-off? No worries. You can fully relive it through the webcast online and the
press release that nicely summarizes the afternoon.
