FUST Ocean

Since 1998, Flanders has supported UNESCO's activities in the field of science in various disciplines; like some important projects relating to the ocean and coastal areas by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). Do you want to be informed about these projects? What are they about? And what the impact is of this cooperation with Flanders? Come and see the FUST Ocean expo in Brussels between 14 and 17 May. The event is co-organized with support from the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ).

The FUST Ocean event is thé occasion to emphasize the achievements made possible by FUST (or in full the Flanders-UNESCO Trust Fund) in the field of research and training on coastal areas and the ocean. Like a.o. the 'OceanTeacher Global Academy' (IOC's flagship project for marine capacity development), the Caribbean Marine Atlas, the data and information network and the biosphere reserves in the Southeast Pacific region, or the development of information products and services for assessing the status of the ocean.

All projects will demonstrate their achievements in a visually strong exposition.

The FUST Ocean expo will take place on 14 and 17 May 2018 in the Herman Teirlinck building of the Flemish Government (Havenlaan 88, 1000 Brussels).
